ERA brand grain panchromatic reproduction film Model EF is a black-and-white negative film of low sensitive grain. The demarcated sensitometry is ISO 25/15º(GB25/15º). Which belongs to a low-speed extremely fine grain black-and-white negative film.
It is coated Silver halides extremely fine grain photo emulsion on Acetate fiber base. It has outstanding resolution and sharpness, continue toner and exquisite picture can be obtained. It is fit to re-photograph words, lines and continuous. Composite image. When taking high multiple microphotographs, the words appear to be clearly distinguished and the images appear to be of rich gradation. It is specially used in making ID cards as well as copying and re-photographing the files, the pictures and documents.
With the characteristics of thin coat, fast development and smooth film, it is fit to be mechanically developed. |
|
Safety Lighting
|
| It must be operated totally in dark. If necessary, it can be watched for a few seconds under dark green safety bulb after the development is half done. The afterglow of fluorescent lamps might cause sensitization of the films even after they are turned off. |

Development & Processing
|
ERA brand black-and-white panchromatic roll film can be developed with the general type of negative processing liquor.
1. Developing: Developer D-76 is recommended.
Clean water (52 ºC)
750ml
N-methyl p-aminophenol sulfate
2.0g
Sulphurous acid sodium without water (Na2SO3) 100g
Hydroquinone
5.0g
Borax (Na2B4O7 .10 H2O)
2.0g
Add water to 1000ml
When making the prescription, the preparation should be added according to the order as mentioned above. use the raw liquor, developing for 6-10minutes at 20 ºC.
The contrast of the film is changing with the mixing of the developer. The quicker it is mixed, the higher contrast it will be. The intensity of mixing should be controlled properly during the process of development.
Prolong the duration of developing in order to enhance the sensitometry of the film if necessary.
2. Stop bath: This is a process of stop development. After developing, immerge film in 2% Glacial acetic acid for 20 seconds.
3. Fixing: F-5 fixing solution is recommended.
Sodium thiosulphate acid (Na2S2O3 .5H2O)
240.0g
Sulphurous acid sodium without water (Na2SO3)
15.0g
28%Glacial acetic acid (CH3COOH)
48ml
Boric acid (H3BO3)
7.5g
Potassium alum (KAI (SO4) 2.12 H2O)
15.0g
Add water to
1000ml
The effect of the fixing is that removes emulsion having no reaction, therefore it should be sure of removing the emulsion completely. When using fresh acid fixing solution for
3--4 minutes.
4. Washing: Wash roll film in running water at least for above 10 minutes.
5. Drying: For avoiding surplus water affecting the manufacture of photo, using a sponge for a special purpose or one big absorbent cotton put roll film slightly on both side to remove surplus water, hang it up to dry or in heat-drier at 30--40 ºC or air-dried at room temperature in a dust-free place.

|
Cautions
|
Film should be kept in cool and dry environment. Harmful gases and objects and radioactive objects should be kept away.
Special attention stockpile conditions of the film during hot and humid season. The unpacked film or film that have not been fully photographed must be kept in a cool and dry environment.
Film kept in low temperature should be taken out earlier before use. Place them in room temperature for 1-2 hours after unsealing to avoid water vapor from condensing and damaging the surface coating.
Film is valid for two years. The photographic performance of film might be changing with the duration of stock, so they should be used up within the term of validity. The film that has been assembled in the camera should be taken up quickly and the exposed film has to be developed as quickly as possible. |
